Audi Nagpur is the biggest luxury car showroom in Nagpur and will offer Audi’s global retail experience standards to the city’s luxury car buyer.

Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, announced the opening of its world-class showroom in Nagpur. The Audi Nagpur showroom was inaugurated by Mr. Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India and Mr. Gautam Kale, Managing Director, Audi Nagpur (Jaika Vehicle Trade Private Ltd).

“The opening of a new showroom in Nagpur showcases our commitment to offer our customers with an unparalleled luxury experience of class defining products and world-class services that truly reflect our core brand values of progressiveness, sophistication and sportiness.  We are proud to be associated with the Kale family for their deep automotive market understanding and wide portfolio. The launch of Audi Nagpur showroom in Maharashtra provides us with an opportunity to capitalize on the growing demand for luxury automobiles in the region. I am confident that our impressive sales performance YTD coupled with our dynamic product line and fast expanding dealer network will ensure that Audi maintains its position as the fastest growing luxury car brand in India”, said Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India.

Audi Nagpur is the biggest luxury car showroom in Nagpur and will offer Audi’s global retail experience standards to the city’s luxury car buyer.

The luxury carmaker will further expand its footprint to cover markets like Bhopal, Coimbatore and Delhi West in April this year.

Audi India plans to expand its network to 25 dealerships by 2012 from the existing 16 centres. Last year, the luxury carmaker opened new showrooms in Delhi, Chennai, Ludhiana, Surat and Indore.

Spread over a total area of 9684 sq. ft. Audi Nagpur showroom has a honeycomb aluminum façade on the exterior. With a display area that can accommodate 10 Audi cars, the showroom will display the entire model range of Audi cars available in India. Audi Nagpur will also house an Audi Shop and the Audi Exclusive elements, where customers can order customized products and purchase a variety of Audi branded merchandise.

“It is a matter of great pride for us to be appointed as an Audi dealer and we hope the opening of this new showroom in Nagpur marks the beginning of a longstanding association with Audi. Jaika Group is associated with automobiles since 1930. At Audi Nagpur, we will ensure that customers are provided with a distinct luxury experience that the brand with the four rings is known for globally. With this world class showroom, we are confident of achieving a leadership position in Nagpur”, said Mr. Gautam Kale, Managing Director, Audi Nagpur (Jaika Vehicle Trade Private Ltd).

Audi Nagpur will also manage the exclusive Audi service facility, located in MIDC Hingna. This facility is spread over an area of 30,000 sq. ft. and has a capacity to service 8 cars per day in a single shift on a total of 7 bays. The technicians at the facility are trained to ensure world-class services to the customers.

In India, Audi achieved a remarkable performance with sale of 600 cars in February 2012 – a growth of 33 percent over the same period last year (February 2011: 450 cars). Powering ahead confidently with its outlook for 2012, the brand with the four rings has plans to sell 8000 cars this year, which will be a significant growth over last year (2011: 5511 cars).

Nagpur Loving couple Pls Alert

Vidarbha farmers Documentary bags National award

News Source: Times of India

NAGPUR: "If a quarter million farmers kill themselves over a span of 16 years, then it is genocide and not suicide. The globalization of economies has given rise to a new form of agrarian warfare where seeds are the new weapons." This observation formed the basis of the documentary 'Cotton For My Shroud' made by Nandan Saxena and his wife Kavita Bahl.

The 90 minute film, shot in the hinterlands of Vidarbha, which have earned the infamous sobriquet of farmer's graveyard, has won a Rajat Kamal for the best investigative film at the 59th National awards announced in New Delhi on Wednesday. The film has been winning accolades since it was first released at Mumbai Film Festival in April last year, and has also received the Gold for best script at the IDPA in Mumbai in October 2011.

In a telephonic chat with TOI from New Delhi, Saxena says that he has been screening the docu-film at various forums and people have been stunned by its content. "The film is meant for both, victims as well as those who can change this dismal scenario. It is easy to blame the simple farmer for not managing his resources." "The cotton farmer is torn between aggressive marketing of supposedly 'better varieties' of transgenic crops by the state, and his traditional wisdom of low-cost and eco-friendly agriculture. He thus falls prey to the honey trap of Bt. The result is in an unending cycle of debt and misery."

Narrated in the first person, the film looks at the macro picture while following the lives of three families. Saxena says that he learnt about the plight of the farmers in Vidarbha while researching water linked projects they were handling in Rajasthan. "It was so horrible that we began looking for more information. When we called up Kishor Tiwari, president of Vidarbha Jan Andolan Samiti, which has been drawing attention to these tragedies, he told us to check it out first hand. My wife and me arrived and began moving around in Yavatmal, Raipodh, Pandharkawda and Kolijhari, which were worst hit by these tragedies." It was not easy for the couple to win the confidence of farmers. Saxena says that the families of victims were weary of media spotlight.

"We came without booking our return tickets. We had all the time and were willing to wait. Gradually, they began to open up," he says. The research and first hand conversations helped them put together a narrative.

"There were two triggers for the suicides. The first at the time of sowing, when the cash strapped farmer is pushed to buy seeds he can ill afford, so he takes credit. The next is at the time of harvest, when he arrives in the market and realizes that he will not get the price that will enable him to repay the loan. That's when the desolate fellow has no option but to consume pesticide." Saxena, who admits to leftist leanings, says that once they had put together the film it was difficult to edit it, as they had to relive these heart wrenching stories once again. "But we overcame our emotions and released it in 2011." Awards aside, the duo feels that true recognition would be when farmers stop taking their lives and sustainable agriculture becomes a policy.

Nagpur Holi

Legend of Holi Festival
Holi is one of the oldest festivals of India. There are many interesting stories associated with the festival's origin as one moves across the different states from North to South and East to West. Paintings and scriptures depict the roots of the festival. Mythology plays a very important part in narrating the festival of Holi. The most popular stories of Holi origin relates to 'Holika Dahan' and Legend of Radha-Krishan.

Story of Holika
Integrally entwined with Holi, is the tradition of 'Holika Dahan', which is actually lighting of bonfires. The ritual is symbolic of victory of good over evil and has its root in the legend of demon king Hiranyakashyap who wished to end his blessed son, Prahlad's life with the help of his sister, Holika who burnt in the fir and no harm occurred to Prahlad. Since then the day is celebrated in victory of good over bad.

Story of Radha and Krishan
The legend of Radha and Krishna is closely linked with this tradition of colors on Holi. Young Krishna, who had a dark complexion was jealous of his beloved Radha's extremely fair skin. In a mischievous mood, he applied color on Radha's face. Following this ancient legend, lovers till date long to color their beloved as an expression of love.

Infosys Joins Nagpur

Nagpur 5 D Traffic Park

Visits to Traffic Park, located at Dharampeth, are about to get more entertaining for the kids and those accompanying them. Coming up inside the park is a theatre to provide an interactive movie experience with 5-dimensional digital effects. The theatre will be inaugurated on February 25.

With a seating capacity of 16, the theatre has been equipped with systems like leg ticklers, back pokers and base shakers, which would give the viewer a real feeling of something crawling up the leg or moving up the back in synch with the movie. With the help of digital projection systems and ones which would provide environmental effects like artificial snowfall and smoke screens, the movies would come to life to provide a surreal viewing experience.

What sure would make it a thrilling experience for the kids and elders alike are the water nozzles hung on the ceiling and in front of the seats which would spray water on the audience if the scene from the film so demanded. The synchronization of such special visual, sound, motion and environmental effects would put the audience right in the middle of the action.

Describing the viewing experience, Atul Tibra, who has brought the project to the city, says, "this theatre has been set up at a cost of Rs 35 lakh by a Gwalior-based firm Modern Techno Projects, which specialises in the business. The 4-D systems are limited only to seat effects like the leg tickler and back poker or base shaker that the viewer feels while watching the film. With 5-D he can experience snowfall, lightening, high winds and even smells. In future we can further enhance this by adding more fans, acoustics and features on the ceiling."

The ticket cost for a show would vary between Rs 80 to Rs 100 depending upon the length of the film. Giving reason for keeping the capacity limited to 16, Atul adds, "this will help us run the show even if we have five persons in the audience as that would make it cost effective." The audience would be given reusable 3-D goggles for viewing the film. The theatre would be open for the entire day and the project owners plan to offer a discount between 11 am and 5 pm. "We are also offering the theatre for bookings for entire family and also for occasions like birthdays or other celebrations."
